Three months after the last issue of Stamp and Cover Collecting August Dietz started his fourth and last philatelic journal, Stamp and Cover Collectors Review (SCCR). In the first issue under the title “Confederate Stamp Alliance” he remarked that the pressures of his publishing business caused him to discontinue the former publication. He went on to say that every feature in the old journal could be found in other publications of the day. But there was one feature that would be missed – Confederates and the Confederate Stamp Alliance. Rather than sever his ties with members of the Alliance he decided to continue the old publication as a quarterly under the new title Stamp and Cover Collectors Review. For a second time he began the new journal by starting the volume number from one.
The SCCR again changed focus. This time it contained international news and stories without forgetting Confederates. While Dietz continued to write detailed articles they were not at the same level as those in previous publications. The pressure of business and age were beginning to take their toll. This was to be his last effort in the field of commercial philatelic journalism and it lasted only three years.
