NAPEX 2026 Results
CWPS members took top honors at NAPEX 2026. CWPS President Daniel Knowles was presented the Multi-Frame Grand Award for his exhibit “Handling American Domestic and International Mail 1860-1869: The Decade of Turmoil, Expansion and Resurgence”. CWPS member Cliff Alexander won the Single-Frame Grand Award for his exhibit “Wiley’s Washington & Baltimore Short-Lived One Cent Despatch Post”.
Two CWPS members exhibited for first time and were well rewarded for their efforts.
- Stephen Milne was presented a Large Gold for his multi-frame exhibit “Confederate Locals – The Postmasters’ Provisionals of the Confederate States of America (1861-1864”.
- Dennis King was presented with a Large Vermeil for his single-frame exhibit “Listed Varieties of the Confederate States 5c Blue Typographed Stamps Printed in Richmond, VA”.
CWPS exhibitors with Muti-Frame exhibits included:
- John Lighthouse (Large Gold) – “Using the Documents of Commerce to Fund the Civil War 1862-1872”
- Wayne Farley (Gold) – “West Virginia Patriotic Uses During the Civil War”
- Randy Smith (Gold) – “Circulars Mailed in the Southern States” and “Civil War Washington Through the Lithographs of Charles Magnus”
- Jerry Wells (Gold) – “United States Mail Service in the South after Secession – the 3¢ Single-Letter Rate”
James Montich won a Large Gold for his Single-Frame Exhibit – “Mississippi 1861: Post-Secession Use of U.S. Postage”

The Society is pleased to announce that our 2027 Annual Meeting will be held at CHARPEX 2027 in Charlotte, NC. The Society last visited this location in 2008. This is being planned as a Friday-Saturday show.
